GNB Update

Welcome to another edition of "Hyperlocal Wednesday" on GNB...

Elected officials in one Atlanta suburb vote to close a loophole on a sign ordinance. Neighbor Newspapers reports that the Roswell City Council voted to tweak the legislation during a meeting Monday. It's designed to prohibit the building of more digital billboards.

Houston County school officials say they want new zones for their schools. The Houston Home Journal reports the school board there presented a different zoning map for the new Veterans High School that's set to open next academic year. It's being built to ease overcrowding in the county's other four high schools. Final voting on the proposal takes place near the end of the month.

Finally, SWGA Politics has more on why Democrats voted for David Ralston as Georgia's new house speaker.
