Georgia moves up to ninth on the total population list. That was the result of U.S. Census figures released Tuesday. The Associated Press reports that Georgia added more than 1.5 million residents over the last decade. That brings the population for 2010 to 9.7 million. Just a decade ago, the Peach State had more than eight million residents.
