The new fiscal year is getting off to a rough start. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that state revenue collections were down 10 percent in July 2009, compared to that same month last year. It's the eighth straight month of declining revenue.
Georgia has a new state Supreme Court justice. GPB News reports that U.S. Attorney David Nahmias was named to the state's high court Thursday. Nahmias will replace Leah Ward Sears, who resigned as the chief justice in June.
