Shake-up in Albany hospital merger
The merger of two Albany hospitals costs almost two dozen people their jobs. The Albany Herald reports that more than 20 employees at the Palmyra Medical Center failed to meet eligibility requirements specified by the soon-to-be former rival Phoebe Putney Hospital. The local hospital authority reached an agreement to buy Palmyra Medical Centers in December.
